Rick and I were getting ready for Denim and Diamonds this year and once Vaughan saw Rick’s cowboy boots, he just had to try them on…with his hat, too. He tromped around the living room in those huge boots until Rick had to ask to have them back so he could get dressed! Yeehaw, little man!

We had another fun night of food and festivities at Denim and Diamonds! A good time was had by all!

What’s better on a hot day than a run through the sprinkler? Vaughan loves it…Rheya, well…not so much. She stayed mostly dry. Perhaps the water was a bit too cold for her liking.

Like most little boys, Vaughan enjoys superheroes…including Spiderman, Batman, Super Why and others. We just introduced him to Superman as well, so I’m sure he’ll add him to his list of go-to characters when he’s pretending to fight “the bad guys” (lately the bad guys have been pirates). I found this adorable cape pattern at Puking Pastilles and just had to try it!

It’s reversible with Batman on one side and Superman on the other. Once again, my machine embroidery skills are pretty pathetic, but from a distance it looks great and Vaughan thinks it’s pretty cool!

We had quite a few days of gorgeous weather (followed by an entire weekend of dreary rain), so the kids have been taking full advantage of the outdoor playtime.
