Leaf me alone

Fall is such a great time for picture-taking! I love it! I took the kids out in the backyard, raked up a pile of leaves and let them go crazy. Ok, so Vaughan was the only one who really went crazy. Rheya was happy to just stand in the pile and examine one of the leaves as I tried (unsuccessfully) to get her to look at me. Oh, well! Cute as always!

Miller Farms 2010

I keep finding myself labeling my posts with the year so each one can easily be identified from the others that may be very similar. For example, we went to Miller Farms last year at about this time and had such fun that we decided to go again. The kids really have fun and the best part is that it’s free to just walk around and play. Rheya was a bit crabby and had several tantrums, but I think she still had fun in between those little melt downs. Vaughan really enjoyed the big bouncy thing…I can really only describe it as a gigantic outdoor air mattress. I did not bounce, but Rick bravely got up there with BOTH kids for a short time. Lots o’ fun!

Family picture time!

I have a friend who is a very good photographer, so when it came time to think about our own family pictures this year, I asked her if she’d be interested in a little trade. She took our family pics and I took hers! It worked out really well and we got some really fun pictures! Rheya was not very cooperative, but that wasn’t a surprise to any of us. We just worked around a few little fits and got through it. She didn’t smile much and she had her mouth hanging open in just about every picture, but that’s how she is right now, so i guess it’s best that we just capture it now so we can remember.

Fun Time in Colorado!

We went down to Colorado for the weekend to visit some family and do some fun things with the kids. We didn’t get a chance to take any kind of real vacation this year, so it was nice to get away even just for a weekend. We started off at the Children’s Museum in Denver. What a great place! The kids really loved it and even their older cousins had fun exploring with their little niece and nephew.

The following day we visited Tiny Town which is an adorable kid-sized village with a whole slew of miniature houses and a even a little train you can ride around the “town.” It was super cute and made for some great picture opportunities! (I realized that I didn’t get many pictures of Vaughan at Tiny Town because the guys sort of wandered away from us to do their own thing.)
